Tell us a little about the race. I ran it 16 days after fracturing a bone in my neck. 6 days after having the neck brace removed. I ran conservatively. It was a six loop course and I was ready to drop at any time if my neck was too sore. I ran a very even pace the entire way. My training for the race was good so it didn’t seem to matter that I had t run for the past 16 days. I was thinking do ably in 3:25 shape. I ran 3:42 in this race.

Did you run with a running club or utilize a coach? No
Did cross training play a role in your training? If so, how? Yes, I swim twice a week.
Did speed work play a role in your training? If so, how? I do speed work once a week in preparation. Either 10 400s or 10 800s.
Any other thoughts you would like to share with those of working towards a BQ? The race described was my BQ for this year.
