I am disappointed in myself that I let work and a stupid speed workout get in the way of my fall training, but them’s the breaks. Dropping out of Philly is definitely the right choice, and I even feel a sense of relief knowing that I won’t be suffering for four plus hours at the end of November.
Basically, I’ve decided that it is time to concentrate on next year. Build up the easy miles slowly and steadily, not get hurt, and wait until sometime next year to reintroduce speed work. That said, some imaginary people on the internet are encouraging me to run the Philly half. Maybe. We’ll see how this week goes.
