So with E and Anna home from the hospital, I am finally finding a bit of time for exercise. Not much, but some. I haven’t exercised in six weeks. In that time, I lost a whole lot of fitness and gained a fair amount of weight. It isn’t a pretty picture.
It is time to get back at it.
This time, I’m going to do it differently and hopefully better. I’m going to look at these past six weeks off as the hard reset my body and mind needed to set me up for the complete rebuild I think I need to take things to the next level. I am starting again at ground zero, absolute bottom. I will build a base conservatively, and over a very long period of time, and then I will add speed work. I’m going to follow the ten percent rule religiously. I’m going to train to heart rate. I’m going to build miles first and speed second. I’m not going to race, or think about racing, until 2017.
I’ll take the time, do the work, and we’ll see what results it brings.
As always, I’m excited, because getting excited is what I do.
Now, to execute.
