No, signed up late and just tried to increase to 40 miles a week

I did speed work but I think the increase in volume played the biggest role. I really didn’t know what I was doing and ran many of my runs at 7:30-8:00 pace which wasn’t far off from marathon pace

Mileage, including miles at marathon pace, long runs finishing at marathon pace.
