Fitness goals for the year

They say you should set outlandish goals for yourself, that will power isn’t what we think it is and that small manageable changes are a better bet than big insane goals. Well, whatever, I like insane goals, and here they are:

1. Work out every day of the year for at least twenty minutes.

2. Run at least one marathon.

3. Set a new PR at the marathon, the 5K, and the five mile distance, at least. All of my PRs are currently so pathetic, this shouldn’t  be hard.

4. Lose at least ten, but hopefully closer to twenty, pounds. For this, I am going to go by the weight I was on Jan 1, 190 pounds.

5. Remember that getting good at running is going to take time, and that it isn’t something I can rush. When I rush my mileage, I get hurt, when I take my time and build the mileage slowly, I get faster and strong.

I feel ignorant asking this, but what does PR stand for in this post?

Hey Lisa, no need to feel ignorant, I should feel silly for using abbreviations! Anyway, PR here is short for “personal record” meaning the fastest time I have run at the distance. If you want to see how sad my PRs are, check out the tab at the top of my blog.
