Training Totals Week of 2.20.2011

RECAP: Finally feel like I am on the mend. I had a pretty decent performance this weekend at the Prospect Park Cherry Tree Ten Miler. I had set an arbitrary goal of 1:24:00, I ended up coming in at 1:20:49. Foot hurt for most of the rest of the night, but it is feeling fine now.

 

I also finally got serious about the body weight and stretching work, doing six our of seven days. I’m going to try and keep that up this week, and hopefully for the first time in a month, get to forty miles for the week.

Running Miles: 35 in 5:12:48

 

Bike Miles: 0

Total exercise time: ~5.5 hours

 

Daily Breakdown:

 

Monday – 6 in 51:56; twenty minutes of body weight exercises including planks, core work, balance drills and 25 push ups

 

Tuesday – 6 in 53:27; 10 minutes of body weight, 10 push ups

 

Wednesday – 1 in 8:50; 5 minutes of body weight work, 35 push ups

 

Thursday – 4.5 in 39:20; 20 minutes of bodyweight work, 10 push ups

 

Friday – 1 in 8:20; 15 minutes bodyweight, 45 push ups

 

Saturday – 4.5 in 40:06, 5 minutes, 10 push ups

 

Sunday – 13 miles including a ten miler race.  To and from the race was 3 miles in 31:00; race 1:20:49

 

Goals for Last Week:

 

1. Run everyday – DONE

2. stretch, bodyweight work, icing every day – Almost

3. Run at least 35 miles – DONE!

 

Goals for Next Week:

  1. Run at least two miles everyday
  2. Body weight work at least four days
  3. Run at least 40 miles
  4. Bike to work once
  5. Exercise a total of at least 6.5 hours.
