  • Every Book I Read in 2010

Here is a list of every book I read in 2010, I’ve noted whether or not I would recommend it, not recommend it, or recommend it for the enthusiast. If a book is recommended I think you would enjoy it whether or not you are particularly interested in the area. Recommended for the enthusiast means…

  • Consumption

Like many, much of how I relate to the world is filtered through the culture I consume. The books I read, the music I listen to, the movies and television I watch are a big part of who I am. I’d like to keep better track of what I read, watch and listen to, I’d…

  • Training Totals 1.9.11

RECAP: Not the week I was hoping for, that’s for sure. I’m just going to pretend that I meant this to be a recovery week and move right along. My legs were dead tired by Wednesday and hitting forty miles for the week disappeared somewhere on Saturday morning. This week (which is already half over…

  • The Return of Friday Inspiration

Another week of challenges is almost over. We’re getting more snow in New York, and I am once again behind in my mileage goals, but I’ll get it done, because that is what I do. Today I hope to squeeze in as many miles as I can, tomorrow, I’ll do 12 and sunday I’ll do…

  • 2010 in review

Below is a dorky report that wordpress created of the traffic statistics on this blog. What I find most interesting is that the most searched terms, month in and month out are Katherine Switzer and Yo Tizer. As any good runner knows, Katherine Switzer is the first woman to have run the Boston marathon with…

  • Training Totals 1.2.2011

RECAP: Exciting week weather wise in Brooklyn. Last Sunday we had a major snow storm which hosed my running for the first part of the week. The streets weren’t cleared for days, and it was really tough to get out there. I went to the gym one day, and did just one mile the other…

  • 2010 by the numbers

I ran 1670.5 miles in 255 hours and three minutes. I took off a grand total of 49 days. I lost about fifteen pounds and PRed in every distance I ran. Not bad. But next year will be better. Happy New Year everyone, I hope you are excited about it as I am.

  • Training Totals 12/26/2010

RECAP: Well, not the week I wanted, mileage wise, but with the holidays and a blizzard here in Brooklyn, I’ll take what I can get. I did get a bike ride in (something I am hoping to do more of) but on the ride home something went wrong with my back wheel and now it…

  • 2011 Goals

As I wrote about earlier, I have mixed feelings about 2010. It was by far my best year for running, but it was also not all I was hoping for. I set PRs at every distance, but I didn’t break four hours in the marathon, and it looks like I won’t run 2,000 miles. Whatever.…

  • Training Totals 12/19/2010

RECAP: Recovery from the Philadelphia Marathon has been a lot harder than I would like. I’m battling some tendonitis in my right foot and having trouble just getting out the door. But this week I started putting together a plan for the new year and feel newly inspired. Hopefully, this recap will be the last…
